This Advanced Placement Literature and Writing course focuses on developing each student in several basic areas: critical thinking, critical reading, and written and verbal communication skills. To that end, we will spend the bulk of our time in class engaged in meaningful class discussion and writing in response to our readings. Ultimately, this class will adhere to standards and guidelines set forth in the AP Literature and Composition course guide.
As a conceptual focus for our studies, we will examine the nature of Tragedy and Comedy. This focus will not limit our approach to reading, but it will serve as a through line for our course of study. Through this approach we will look at thematically linked texts, each possessing a similar theme, but approaching that theme from a different atheistic spirit.
- This is is a Reading course that will allow students to fulfill TEKS Reading and Technology objectives through an e-classroom environment.
